our plan is to take over that stillness,

the coolest thing you’re ever
going to do in your lifetime
Gavriel and Danielle, two freelance industrial designers
who just do what they love most.
Not as in “we’re so blessed”; as in – fuck it,
everything is so accessible and yet so boring.
We want to be surprising, novel; we want people to experience something different, unique, that would really leave its mark.
We want to get people going not knowing what the next step is going to be, not knowing what they’re about to go through, and when they finally do find out, we want them to get excited about it.
That’s the word – to get people excited.
Because everything is so predictable, always.
We want to bring people closer in other, cool, fun ways.
We offer concept boxes that create a crazy, unique experience.
The main purpose here is to surprise people, engage them, and bring them closer to one another.
All while emphasizing creativity, fun, and coolness.
Remember when COVID started?
Way back when in early 2020.
It’s actually a fascinating story so pay attention 🙂
So it all began when we met on some dating app, we went on a date or two, it was really cool, Gavriel took me out to some bar in Jaffa and ordered 4 shots.
Each. To start. That was when I realized that this guy wasn’t 100% in command of his faculties, which is cool because the two of us combined may be 60% normal.
We discovered many more things we had in common, for example that we both like creating and inventing stuff.
We named ourselves Pinky and the Brain, and this was well before we took over the world.
And then, Bam. It happened. COVID. Lockdown.
Me, a Tel Aviv bartender and designer with a bright future, and Gavriel, a furniture designer with background in event production found ourselves sitting at home, in our living room, just staring into space.
Sitting there, wondering – now what.
We talked about setting up bars on rooftops, suspended between buildings, we wanted to find a way to meet the needs of the masses.
We looked for ways to relieve people’s sudden boredom,
make them laugh, keeping themselves busy
with something that can bring them closer and make them happier in such trying times.
We thought about you. You who sit in the living room just as we were.
One of the situations we shot into the air was that of people having to celebrate their birthday at home,
and what a bummer it was that you couldn’t come over to surprise them.
We decided to make a box just for those people.
Lonely-Birthday – a birthday kit for the lonely birthday boy/girl.
We posted a description of our idea, with a few pictures to illustrate the experience we imagined,
and went to bed.
We woke up to a torrent of messages,
questions, and hundreds of orders for a product that was little more than idea.
Not stopping to think twice, we were waist-deep in a new project.
Gavriel on the road seeing suppliers for merchandise, me taking orders and designing flash cards, both of us putting our product together as we go.
Our living room, once a place for dreams, turned into a box factory overnight.
After three months of dating and working together we decided to stay business partners.
We continued to develop more products with the aim of bringing people closer together.
Next came our Black Box and the rest is history.
